Bob is a life member of the National Bit, Spur and Stamp-collectors Association.  His knowledge of the Old West Gear  and how it was made has been a life-long interest for him. In 2011, Bob and Tara were commissioned by the Roy Rodgers-Dale Evans Happy Trails Children's Foundation to build a silver parade saddle,  Bob said, "I am very proud to have been chosen to reproduce this Bohlin style silver saddle.  It is the high point of my career, especially for a cause so worthy as the Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Happy Trails Children's Foundation."

Carbon Fibre Trees :

Old problem, new solution
Nearly 20 years ago, the idea for the carbon-fiber, cable-rigged saddle tree started to take shape in the mind and workshop of Mark Howes, who makes saddles at his Double H Ranch Saddle Shop in La Porte, Colo. Like most innovations, it was born of frustration: Howes was vexed with the rawhide-covered wood saddle trees that he ordered from other people.
